Who am I?

I am Wendy Watkins, an avid traveller. I love to go beyond where I have been before and to do things I have never even dreamed about!

Sydney, Australia is my home and my travelling companion is my husband, Peter, who keeps me sane and focused.  We share a passion for photography, trekking and mountains.  He is always willing to pull on his boots and come along with me on all the adventure I come up with. We are partners in all we do.

My love of travel began when I was very young, probably around 5 or 6 years old.  My parents always took us kids travelling, first in my Grandpa’s tiny caravan mainly to beach locations up and down the coast of Western Australia. Then when I was 8 years old Mum and Dad bought a brand new, shiny caravan that we could all fit into.  That was when the adventures really began!  We travelled all over Western Australia and then across Australia, around Australia and through the middle as well.  I loved the anticipation of entering a new town, wondering what it would be like and what treasures would we see.

I still, to this day, feel that same excitement every time I land in a new city or country.  It is the thrill of the unknown.   Each year I travel as much as I can and for as long as I can. Caravans no longer feature in my travel but camping, trekking and mountains definitely do!

Endless Tracks is about being happy, delighted and awed by the memories created by travel.

So what is your great adventure? Dare to dream – the possibilities are endless!
